Here, students were asked to complete the worksheet, as they had completed a similar one the day before. They were asked to work with their lab bench groups, and try to solve the problems. They were told that eventually they would be "presenting" to class. In actuality, not all of the students presented every question, but each group played a role in solving the problems and correcting them together. My role then, was once the worksheet was handed in, I was to look at the questions completed by each student and observe whether or not the student really helped the rest of their group solve the problems.
Groups were arranged so that students who would struggle with application were placed with those who would not struggle; and one group would not have an unfair advantage over another.
